TwinN - Nitrogen Fixing Microbes
TwinN is a combination of scientifically selected endophytic and soil borne bacteria. It is an inoculum applied to plants, thereby enabling plants to produce a portion of their own nitrogen. The bacteria produce nitrogen in a similar way as to legumes. The ability of crops to produce their own Nitrogen is broadly termed as Biological Nitrogen Fixation "BNF".
TwinN enables a reduction in the use of chemical Nitrogen, which offers farmers an excellent and cost effective alternative to an ecological dilema in the use of excess amounts of applied chemical Nitrogen. Other benefiting factors include, the ability of the Microbes to produce growth promoting factors some of which mimic auxins - these natural plants hormones stimulate plant and root development. How does TwinN work? Atmospheric Nitrogen is fixed within the plants by the endophytic microbes and also released by the rhizosphere microbes to be captured by the roots, the increase in root growth also enable the plants to capture soil applied nutrients more effecticiently. Refer toMechanism of Action for further information.
How do you apply TwinN? TwinN can be applied as a foliar application or via irrigation. Refer to Application Guideline. The application of TwinN, as is the case with all Microbial products, is an important consideration and instructions should be followed carefully, in order to achieve optimal results from biological applications.
